PTO MEETING
September 14TH 2021 From 6 - 7 PM Via Zoom

The first PTO meeting is a great opportunity to learn more about Khalsa PTO and to meet other parents. We will discuss the PTO's mission, opportunities to get involved, and upcoming events.

This year's meetings will take place through Zoom. Look to your email for your invitation which will contain the Zoom link.

Family Take out dinner at CHIPOTLE
WEDNESDAY, september 8th, 2021 From 4 - 9PM @ 556 W Mcdowell rd

Families are invited to a "Take Out" Or "Dine-In" Dinner to be enjoyed at at Chipotle. This is a Dine-Out fundraiser event. A portion of the proceeds go to the PTO when you present the emailed flyer between 4-9 PM on September 14th. Please remember to bring your flyer.

Topics for this meeting will include the upcoming Heart and Hands online silent auction as well as other Fall programs.  

Fall mixer and heart and hands silent auction 
OCTOBER 29, 2021 6-8 PM @ vALLEY GARDEN CENTER

We hope to be able to hold our annual Fall Mixer gathering at the Valley Garden Center. This event is a wonderful way for our parents to come together in a social setting to enjoy a fun night of food, music, and socializing. We will hold our "Heart and Hands" Silent Auction during the event. If you would like to donate an item for the auction please email us at kmspto@gmail.com Please stay tuned for more information.

At our November PTO Meeting, we will plan for the upcoming Khalsa Family Kickball Game. We will share updated Financial statements and also confirm some dates/times for the Family Volunteer Day at SVDP, Winter Hike, and Spring Carnival.

We hope to hold our Khalsa Family Kickball Game this year at Monterey Park (350 Oak Street). The whole family is welcome to come and play, whether in the kickball game or in the park with your jump ropes, hula hoops, and other park toys.

​FAMILY VOLUNTEER DAY AT ST VINCENT DE PAUL FARM
December 4th and 11th  8 AM - 12:30 PM @ 2021 S 3rd Dr, Phx, AZ 85003 

Please join us for Family Volunteer Day at St. Vincent de Paul at the Rob & Melani Walton Urban Farm. Families will have 2 weekends and different shifts to choose from. Details to come.

Winter Hike: Fat Man's Pass
January 8TH, 2022 9-11am @ Buena Vista Trailhead

Get healthy and get hiking in the new year! Please join us for our Winter Hike on Saturday morning, January 8th. Fat Man's Pass at South Mountain Park is an enjoyable hike for all ages. It is a 3.6 mile round-trip hike on mostly flat-hilly paths. When done together with friends, the time and distance pass easily.

We'll gather at the Buena Vista Trailhead at 8:45 AM Saturday morning. Pre-hike refreshments are provided by the PTO, so come early!

Parking at the Buena Vista trailhead is limited, so plan to park at the Dobbins Lookout parking lot where the school van will serve as a shuttle to and from the trailhead. The shuttle will run from 8:30 – 8:50 AM, as well as following the hike. Parents may want to bring a carrying device for small children (no strollers). Come a little early and enjoy some pre-hike refreshments provided by the PTO!

At our January PTO Meeting, we will plan for the upcoming Events, and start requesting volunteers for Spring Carnival.

This wonderful volunteer opportunity gives Khalsa students and their siblings a chance to read or be read to by a senior residents of Kivel Campus of Care by way of Zoom. More Details to come!!

At our February PTO Meeting we will focus on Carnival preparations. We are looking for volunteers to help with set-up, take-down, game supervisors, salsa contestants, and ticket sellers.

Spring Carnival
March 5th 2022 10 AM - 3 PM @ 350 E Oak St, Phx, az 85004

The Carnival is our biggest community event of the year and it's put on entirely by parent and teacher volunteers. So needless to say, we can't do it without you!

We are in need of volunteers to help with planning activities, setting up the morning of the Carnival, volunteering during the Carnival and helping us clean up. There is a job for everyone, whether you can donate an hour of your time or more!

Khalsa PTO: Seeking Nominations!
Khalsa PTO is seeking nominations for Officer and Committee roles for the 2020-21 school year. All roles are open and can be viewed at www.KhalsaPTO.org. Any parent/guardian is eligible to nominate themselves or someone you think highly of.

Khalsa PTO is especially looking for volunteers for President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Silent Auction, Event Coordinator, Webmaster and Dine Out Nights. Nominees must be present at the April 14th PTO Meeting. We humbly request your contribution!

Teacher Appreciation Week May 2nd-6th 2022

Please join us in thanking the teachers for all of their hard work. Take this opportunity to let your child's teacher know that you recognize and appreciate all that they do, big and small.
